Season Five of Z Nation finds Warren and Our Heroes at the birth of a nation when they finally reach Newmerica — just in time to help save it from a new, post-Black Rain zombie threat: TALKERS. The mixed-up-modified Black Rain has one main side effect, instead of melting zombies for a reset, it has restored the consciousness of the undead, particularly any zombie who died post-Black Rain. We’ll meet a charismatic young military leader, a 25-year-old woman, “George.” A hero, like a modern George Washington, who is famous for saving dozens of people from a zombie horde by forming an alliance with the Talkers – who now want to be part of this new nation.
Season four begins two years in the future, just as Warren is waking from a coma to find that she, and a cured, flesh-toned, seemingly 100% human Murphy, have survived. The rest of the team was scattered after the events of the season three finale. As Warren and Murphy find the others, they discover they may have lost one of their own; worse, one of our heroes may have delivered the deathblow.
With Operation Bite Mark in shambles and our heroes again on the hunt for Murphy, Season 3 opens on a world where the fate of humanity rests not in the jaws of zombies, but in the rise of a new breed of hybrid blends. Created and controlled by Murphy, the ever-growing army of blends is hell bent on spreading their message of “No Fear” across the land. It’s up to Warren, Doc, Addy, and new team members Hector and Sun Mei to stop Murphy and his cult of blends before it’s too late.
While the heroes barely surviving the nuclear blasts search for Murphy, Citizen Z broadcasts Murphy’s identity and offers a bounty from the CDC to get him to California safely. Suddenly everyone wants a piece of “The Murphy,” including a mysterious and deadly bounty hunter, Vasquez. This season’s journey promises epic battles with a variety of new zombies – from Radioactive Blaster Zombies to Phyto-Zombies, Animal Zombies and of course a Zombie Baby!.
Three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. Although the antibodies he carries are the world’s last and best hope for a vaccine, he hides a dark secret that threatens them all. With humankind’s survival at stake, the ragtag band embarks on a journey of survival across three thousand miles of rusted-out post-apocalyptic America.
